Marineland and Penguin HOB filters are excellent. Pros: complete unit, easy filter change, keeps water clear and removes impurities, low noise, powerful, effective, flip top access, adjustable flow, additional media slot. I highly recommend removing and cleaning out the filter box monthly including the spray bar, propeller and intake tubes to prevent debris buildup inside the bottom. Do not clean the bio-wheels. A Quality product.

I always use multiple filters on my tanks. It helps me achieve higher fish densities without poor water qualities. I use these filters as supplements to my DIY filters. It costs about the same amount as a good pump costs and helps keep my bacterial load when I need to clean my other filter. I highly recommend for any hobbyist for the price or even to breeders. I will be picking up more soon.

Great filter. Very reliable. I use this filter on all of my tanks to make replacement of pads universal on all tanks. Highly recommended and best bang for the buck. (Also, Ken's fish ROCKS with their pricing) Thanks to the folks who all work there!)

this is one of my favorite filters!! powerful, well made and highly reliable. i have four of these in use in my homje as well as an emporer in my saltwater tank. great filtration system!!
